Logistics

Travel

The conference venue is the city center of Madrid. Easy communication with the metro and buses from the airport (Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas) and any other locations of the city.

Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport operates direct flights from most of the world's capitals. From the airport, the city center is directly accessible by:

Taxi

Taxi

Taxis and ride-sharing services are readily available at the airport. Taxis have a flat rate 33€ from the airport to any place of Madrid center. About 30-40’ trip.

Metro

L8 / L6

The airport is connected to the city center via Metro Line 8. Itinerary: Line 8: Airport to Nuevos Ministerios, Line 6: Nuevos Ministerios to Argüelles (Venue 400m by foot).

Bus

Bus line 200

From Airport to Avenida América.

Airport Express Bus

Exprés Aeropuerto offers a direct connection between the airport and several central locations in Madrid, including Atocha Railway Station, which is well-connected to Argüelles via metro lines.

To use public transport, it is recommended to purchase a "multi-transport card." It can be purchased at all Metro stations (including at the entrance of the Airport T1-T2-T3 and Airport T4 stations). It is acquired at machines marked with a red sticker indicating "MULTI Card Available HERE" with credit card payment authorized (when clicking on "Purchase card," three ticket options are displayed in this order: 1 journey, 10 journeys, and Airport, and after clicking the arrow for "More options," two additional categories appear: from 1 to 7 days (tourist) and 30-day pass). Choose the most convenient option for you, but always purchase journeys in area A if you are only visiting Madrid center. Notice that the same "multi-transport card” works for the metro network and urban buses.

Accommodation

Madrid receives a large amount of tourists in summer. We strongly encourage booking accommodation in hotels well in advance.

Abstract Submission

Abstracts submitted for oral presentations/posters should describe the purpose and scope of the work, contribution to the state-of-the-art, methods used, essential results already obtained, results to be expected until the conference starts, conclusions, supporting figures and references where appropriate.

The scientific committee will review the abstracts on the basis of originality, technical quality, style clarity of presentation, and importance to the field. Accepted contributions will then be selected either for oral presentations or for posters.

Abstracts should be formatted using one of the two templates below (note that LaTeX would be preferred). Further instructions can be found in the template files. When submitting an abstract, please send the resulting pdf-file, together with the tex- or doc-file and the figures.

If you wish to give a presentation, send an abstract of at most one page length prior to January 31, 2025, to ima12(at)nebrija.es.

The subject title of the E-mail shall be: "[ima12], "first author's name"

The following information shall be sent in the message together with the abstract file itself :

  • Title:
  • Author(s):
  • Affiliation(s) :
  • Session: 'Oral presentation' or 'Poster'
  • Intend to submit a manuscript of your contribution for publication in Physical Journal Special Topics (EPJ-ST): YES or NO

Program

Speakers: The presentation time is 20 minutes, including questions (4 - 5 minutes). To present your talk, you can either transfer your presentation to the conference system or use your own laptop. In the latter case, please check before your session begins (during coffee break, lunch break etc.) if everything works fine.

Posters: Before the poster session, each poster will be briefly presented (5 minutes). Poster presentations do not need to reserve any official time for discussion. Maximun poster size is A0. The posters will be fixed with the help of double-sided adhesive tape.

EPSJ Special Topics

Articles may be one of four types: (i) minireviews (10-15 pages), (ii) tutorial reviews (15+ pages), (iii) original paper v1 (5-10 pages), or (iv) original paper v2 (3-5 pages). More detailed descriptions of each article category and further authors’ instructions can be found in the Submission Guidelines.

The LaTeX macros for the preparation of the manuscripts can be found here but authors are free to use formats such as Word as well if they prefer.

EPJST is a hybrid journal offering Open Access publication via the Open Choice program and a growing number of Open Access Agreements which enable CORRESPONDING authors affiliated to an institute participating in one of the agreements to publish OA , the fee being then covered by the institutional partner. Eligibility will be automatically verified when the corresponding author is requested to complete the relevant affiliation information after acceptance of the paper. Corresponding authors not affiliated to institutes with Open Access Agreements are redirected to select a publishing model and then have to decide between paying the current Open Access fee or choosing the subscription option without any publication charges. (Alternatively, co-authors may jointly investigate if a change of corresponding author would make their paper eligible for institutional OA).
