Nuestra Cátedra se propone, así, acercar la investigación a la sociedad y ofrecer un espacio abierto desde el que, juntos, compartir los retos lingüísticos y sociales de migrantes y refu- giados. Y lo hace apostando por investigar los pro- cesos lingüísticos allí donde se dan, rompiendo las barreras entre los investigadores –los lingüistas- y los usuarios –los hablantes-. De aquí surgen pro- yectos como el Living Lab Nebrija . Living Lab Nebrija : ¿qué es? Cuando pensamos en un laboratorio, se nos ven- drán a la cabeza imágenes de probetas, microsco- pios, tubos de ensayo... En el área de la lingüística trabajamos con personas, con usuarios de la lengua: nuestros laboratorios son lugares llenos de vidas. La idea del Living Lab es justamente llevar la ciencia a donde se habla y se aprende esa nueva lengua. Crear, así, un es- pacio social dinámico e innovador que facilite, a un tiempo, el acceso a re- cursos de apoyo lingüís- tico a los usuarios. En 2020, la Universi- dad Nebrija y Cruz Roja firmaron un acuerdo para el establecimiento de la sede fija del Living Lab Nebrija en el Cen- tro de Acogida Tempo- ral San Blas, un centro de Cruz Roja en Madrid para la atención de hom- bres y mujeres extranje- ros en situación de vulnerabilidad sin recursos eco- nómicos. El Living Lab realiza fundamentalmente dos tipos de actividades: por una parte, organiza- mos actividades de apoyo lingüístico y cultural con los usuarios, y, por otra, desarrollamos actividades de investigación y toma de datos para su análisis. Una prueba multinivel de español para inmigrantes Si bien conocer la lengua de acogida es funda- mental para las personas migrantes, a menudo es necesario, además, acreditar un determinado nivel de dominio del idioma. Esta certificación lingüísti- ca es imprescindible para acceder a determinados puestos de trabajo o para realizar trámites esen- ciales como obtener la residencia o la nacionali- dad. Thus, creating a dynamic and innovative social space that simultaneously facilitates access to linguistic support resources for users. In 2020, Nebrija University and the Red Cross signed an agreement for the establishment of the permanent headquarters of the Nebrija Living Lab at the San Blas Temporary Accommodation Center, a Red Cross center in Madrid for the care of foreign men and women in vulnerable situations and without economic resources. The Living Lab basically carries out two types of activities: on the one hand, we organize linguistic and cultural support activities with users, and, on the other, we carry out research activities and data collection for their analysis. A multilevel Spanish test for immigrants Although knowing the host language is essential for migrants, it is often necessary, in addition, to prove a certain level of command of the language. This linguistic certification is essential to access certain jobs, or to carry out essential procedures, such as obtaining residence or nationality. In turn, in research this type of placement tests is a fundamental tool for the development of our studies in language acquisition.
