L a reciente tensión fronteriza en Ceuta y la ce- lebración del Día Mundial del Refugiado el pa- sado 20 de junio piden una reflexión sobre la garantía de los derechos de los migrantes y el forta- lecimiento de los mecanismos de cooperación para una gestión migratoria más justa y ordenada. En esta ocasión, el Parlamento Europeo emitió un co- municado criticando los acuerdos sobre el retorno y devolución de migrantes irregulares, destacando la importancia de garantizar las obligaciones de derechos humanos hacia los migrantes y los refu- giados. Hace unas semanas la ciudad autónoma de Ceuta vivía un momento de presión migratoria resultado de la tensión político-diplomática entre España y Marruecos. ¿Podemos confiar en los guardianes de la frontera? Can we trust the border guards? T he recent border tension in Ceuta and the celebration of World Refugee Day on June 20 call for a reflection on guaranteeing migrant rights and strengthening of cooperation mechanisms for a more just and orderly migration management. On this occasion, the European Parliament issued a statement criticizing the agreements on the return of irregular migrants, highlighting the importance of guaranteeing human rights obligations towards migrants and refugees. A few weeks ago, the autonomous city of Ceuta was experiencing a moment of migratory pressure as a result of the political-diplomatic tension between Spain and Morocco.
