E l presente y futuro del sector del automóvil parecen haber entrado en una fase de profun- dos cambios, que hacen prever modificaciones radicales de la experiencia de la conducción en los próximos años. En este nuevo horizonte aparecen los vehículos autónomos como una de las grandes revoluciones. Pero esta tecnología, además de gran complejidad técnica, lleva aparejados actualmente elevados precios. En el camino de superar el desafío tecnológico y de democratizar sus costes está ya el vehículo autónomo Neva, que ha empezado a escri- bir su historia en España tras su exitosa presenta- ción en el Sandbox de Villaverde. Esta aceleradora es el área de pruebas de movilidad más grande de Europa, promovida por el Ayuntamiento de Madrid y el consorcio Madrid Futuro. El proyecto es vanguardista, entre otras razones, porque es “el único en España que combina la cola- boración entre el ámbito privado y la Universidad, y de los pocos del mundo que aúna unos estándares muy altos de calidad, seguridad y tecnología con un bajo coste económico”, asegura Francisco Badea, director general de FEM Expert y profesor de la Universidad Nebrija. In this new horizon, autonomous vehicles appear as one of the great revolutions. However, this technology, in addition to great technical complexity, currently entails high prices. The Neva autonomous vehicle is now on the path to overcoming the technological challenge and democratizing its costs, and has begun to write its story in Spain after its successful presentation at the Villaverde Sandbox. This accelerator is the largest mobility testing area in Europe, promoted by the Madrid City Council and the Madrid Futuro consortium.
