Pero ¿cómo podemos entender estas respues- tas y actitudes contradictorias dentro de la propia Unión Europea? Más allá de la amenaza Los discursos políticos sobre las migraciones irregulares y los refugiados se han centrado en identificar estos flujos predominantemente como un problema de seguridad. Se ha destacado con fre- cuencia su carácter de “incontrolabilidad” que po- dría afectar el orden interno (la seguridad de la UE y de sus Estados miembros) o a nivel identitario (dife- rencias culturales y pro- blemas de integración). En este sentido, los flujos migratorios irre- gulares, en particular aquellos que se dan en el entorno marítimo, se han enmarcado dentro de una lógica de securitización, lo que se ha traducido en la adopción de medidas di- suasorias de carácter ur- gente, mediante el forta- lecimiento de los sistemas de vigilancia fronteriza y los acuerdos con países terceros. The proximity bias A recent study by the London School of Economics identified a set of elements that explain the inclusive attitudes towards refugees from the war in Ukraine, and the opposition that is registered against other groups.
