tipo de corpus pone a disposi- ción de toda la comunidad cien- tífica un gran caudal de datos para su análisis desde diferen- tes perspectivas, promoviendo, así, el avance de la investiga- ción en los diferentes procesos que subyacen al aprendizaje del español en un contexto hasta ahora casi ignorado –tan igno- rado como, en su momento, lo fueron también las gramáticas de las lenguas vulgares cuya descripción y estudio Nebri- ja se propuso impulsar-. En el ámbito de la lingüística aplica- da y la adquisición de lenguas, el español ocupa hoy en día, sin duda, un lugar de marcado in- terés. Sin embargo, el estudio de la adquisición de español en contextos de migración sigue estando aún poco reconocido y, en cierto modo, marginalizado en la investigación. En un esfuerzo científica y éticamente comprometido por paliar esta invisibilización, estos dos proyectos impulsados por nuestra Cátedra se presentan como una aportación importante y necesaria dirigida a im- pulsar la investigación en esta área. No podemos saber qué pensaría Antonio de Nebri- ja, cuya figura da nombre e inspira a nuestra Univer- sidad y a nuestra Cátedra, pero podemos intuir que este espíritu humanista, defensor a ultranza del valor de la educación en la transformación e impulso social, impulsor no solo del estudio de la lengua española, sino también de su descripción para aquellos que, sin haber crecido en ella, la acogen en su seno y la quie- ren aprender y utilizar (para aquellos que de alguna lengua peregrina querrán venir al conocimiento de la nuestra –como subrayara ya en el Libro V de su Gramática-), miraría con buenos ojos este compromi- so y reivindicación del español también como lengua de migración. Como él, partimos de una visión uni- versal (el conocimiento que adquirimos y difundimos es independiente de cualquier condicionante cultural, étnico, nacional o religioso) atendiendo de forma di- recta el español de los migrantes, pero lo valoramos y estudiamos en su particularidad, teniendo muy en cuenta sus lenguas maternas y sus culturas. El espa- ñol, hoy también en tanto que lengua de migración, se presenta como un hogar lingüístico , como ese espa- cio común en el que compartir los retos con vocación de universalidad y de diversidad, de igualdad en la diferencia, y de espacio para la convivencia. The compilation and open publication of this type of corpus makes a large volume of data available to the entire scientific community for their analysis from different perspectives, thus promoting the advancement of research in the different processes that underlie the learning of Spanish in a context that has been all but ignored until now –as ignored as, at the time, were the grammars of the vernacular languages whose description and study Nebrija set out to promote. Today, in the field of applied linguistics and language acquisition, Spanish undoubtedly occupies a place of marked interest. However, the study of the acquisition of Spanish in migration contexts is still little recognized and, to a certain extent, marginalized in research. In a scientific and ethically committed effort to alleviate this invisibility, these two projects promoted by our Chair are presented as an important and necessary contribution aimed at promoting research in this area. We cannot know what Antonio de Nebrija would think of this, whose figure gives name to and inspires our University and our Chair, but we can intuit that this humanist spirit, a staunch defender of the value of education in social transformation and inspiration, promoter not only of the study of the Spanish language, but also of its description for those who, without having grown up with it, accept it as their own and want to learn and use it ( for those who from some pilgrim language will want to come to know ours –as he remarked in Book V of his Grammar), he would look favorably on this commitment and vindication of Spanish as a language of migration as well. Like him, we depart from a universal vision (the knowledge that we acquire and spread is independent of any cultural, ethnic, national or religious conditioning) attending directly to the Spanish of migrants, but we value and study it in its particularity, taking into account their mother tongues and their cultures. Spanish, today also as a language of migration, is presented as a linguistic home , as that common space in which to share challenges with a vocation for universality and diversity, equality in difference, and space for coexistence.
