It is Not Just About Acquiring Knowledge Education is typically seen as the pursuit of knowledge, and that is certainly a crucial aspect. However, it is not the sole focus. In order to embark on a continuous learning journey free from rigid guidelines and a structured curriculum, one’s attitude becomes of paramount importance. What we already know and how we apply it is just as vital as the willingness to learn. This desire requires motivation and a range of other skills, including the ability to collaborate and share knowledge effectively in the digital realm, often referred to as “Working Out Loud.” Digitalization introduces new methodologies and tools, but it also demands personal growth in terms of values and attitudes. One such attitude is the cultivation of an inquisitive appetite for learning from anything and anyone, often termed ‘learnability’. This should not be confused with a mere ability to receive instruction; it is about actively and proactively engaging in the learning process. Given that our learnability is expandable, confidence in our intellectual capacity to navigate these changes is essential. To harness this potential, when designing our roadmap for effective learning, we should consider the following elements: 1. Critical Thinking: This involves not only incorporating our own knowledge but also the ability to ask questions that facilitate a comprehensive understanding. 2. Communication and Dissemination: Developing skills to share acquired knowledge is crucial, as teaching others can enhance our own learning. 3. Collaboration and Co-creation: These are powerful mechanisms for multiplying knowledge, with the development of knowledge networks serving as a key catalyst. 4. Seeking Applicability and Transversality: This broadens our opportunities to engage in the lateral thinking that creativity demands. Learning Is More Effective in the Company of Others Another misconception we should dispel is that self-directed learning is inherently individual and solitary. La comunicación y la difusión, obligándo- nos a desarrollar destrezas que nos permitan compartir el conocimiento adquirido, porque se aprende mucho enseñando a otros. 3. La colaboración y la cocreación, ambos meca- nismos multiplicadores de conocimiento, con el desarrollo de redes de conocimiento como catalizador clave. 4. La búsqueda de la aplicabilidad pero tam- bién de la transversalidad, para así ampliar nuestras oportunidades de abrirnos al pensa- miento lateral que precisa la creatividad.
