Throughout these sessions, which take place for the second time and were scheduled to encompass different work fields, the former residents that were invited shared their professional experience, advice and recommendations with the current residents in order to guide them in their professional future.
Alba Yuste, head of the Former Residents Club, was in charge of opening this second edition and took the opportunity to highlight the work of the Club in scheduling activities that promote the educational and professional training of current residents.
The session on Monday 1 focused on the field of medicine and health sciences, and the speaker was Manuel Vilches, Corporate Director of Health, International and Innovation of COFARES, a leading company in the distribution of medicines in Spain, and General Director of the Foundation IDIS (Institute for the Development and Integration of Health). Throughout his presentation, he had the opportunity to convey to the attendees the current reality in the field of management of both public and private hospitals and where the future of this and of medical services in general is focused. Likewise, he spoke with each of the attendees to provide advice and answer any questions regarding their professional opportunities.
On Thursday 4, the session dedicated to the field of engineering was held by Alejandro Jiménez, System manager in the SIEMENS Engineering Department. Alejandro shared with the residents his personal experience as an engineer, providing them with advice that, from the position of someone who has now developed part of his career, can be of help to those who are still in their final years of university. He highlighted the importance of personal growth as a differentiating tool in the selection processes and placed special emphasis on the value of learning outside the classroom. After his presentation, the attendees were able to resolve all their questions about preparing and presenting a CV and selection processes.
