Professional internships in the best companies in the sector

The Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design Engineering and Product Development is endorsed by a trajectory of more than 15 years teaching studies on industrial design.

This is a program aimed at learning by facing the real challenges of industrial design, which encourages the creative and decisive attitude of students through active University-Business collaboration. The aim is to train a professional who is integral and has imagination and creativity. The areas of digital design, materials and manufacturing processes stand out. Research is a basic part of the studies and, together with internships in companies and multidisciplinary work, it allows students to develop their abilities and acquire specific competences, such as artistic expression, use of new technologies, ability for innovation and comprehensive management of a project.

Innovation is considered from all forums and institutions as an absolute necessity throughout the EU, and in our country in particular. Industrial Design is one of the tools to manage innovation in the company, and too often it has been approached lightly and with an excessively self-taught character. This has resulted in the lack of continuity of the activity and a certain suspicion on the part of the business community.

The contribution of factors such as industrial design can be very useful for the competitiveness of our companies:

  • The integrating vision of existing technologies.
  • The management of intangible communication and image
  • The systematic use of creativity

All the objects that surround us, from the packaging of a product to a mobile phone, including complex industrial processes, require the analysis and work of engineers in Industrial Design and Product Development.

The Engineer in Industrial Design and Product Development must know both the demand of the customer market and the offer of suppliers. In addition to designing or manufacturing in their own company, they must know how to integrate products and assemble a final ensemble, where not all the components have been manufactured in the company itself. Therefore, they must be a good integrator, with imagination and creativity.

Development of Professional Skills

The Bologna Declaration formalized the principles on which the European Higher Education Area should be based: quality, mobility, diversity, competitiveness and employment growth.

From this, Nebrija stands as an academic model of reference, educating students with excellent individual behavior, interaction with their environment and motivated by and for constant and continuous training. The Nebrija Institute of Professional Skills works every day to achieve the differentiation of our students through the development of attitudes and skills.

The main objective is for students to achieve the best of themselves through the development and empowerment of their personal skills and resources through personal self-knowledge.

In addition, some of the professional skills that are worked on within the three seminars are those related to interpersonal skills and active communication skills and negotiation, indispensable for our students to know how to transmit ideas, to argue them, to provide information and opinions in an adequate, clear and convincing way.

Within what will be their work performance, other aspects such as teamwork, conflict resolution and project management ability will be worked on.

In the third block, skills worked on are those aimed at increasing the student's employability. They will work with tools and techniques for job searching, and perform tasks that achieve in the student a greater use of their personal skills.

For all this we have currently active experts in selection of people, professionals dedicated to personal and professional training and professionals dedicated to the world of communication and the arts.

In this way, and in a complementary way to his/her specific training, we help the student create a differentiating pattern in the social and business environment in which he/she will be immersed when he/she finishes his/her studies.
