Master's Degree in General Health Psychology

• Possess and understand knowledge that provides a basis or opportunity to be original in the development and/or application of ideas, often in a research context.
• That students know how to apply the knowledge acquired and their ability to solve problems in new or unfamiliar environments within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to their area of study.
• That students are able to integrate knowledge and face the complexity of making judgments based on information that, being incomplete or limited, includes reflections on social and ethical responsibilities linked to the application of their knowledge and judgments.
• That students know how to communicate their conclusions and the knowledge and ultimate reasons that sustain them to specialized and non-specialized audiences in a clear and unambiguous way.
• That students have the learning skills that allow them to continue studying in a way that will be largely self-directed or autonomous.

• Identify that the practice of the profession is based on respect for the patient's autonomy, beliefs, culture, genetic, demographic and socioeconomic determinants, applying the principles of social justice and understanding the ethical implications in a transforming global context.
• Incorporate the ethical and legal principles of the profession in practice, always acting on the basis of compliance with deontological obligations, current legislation and standards of normopraxis, integrating social and community aspects in decision-making.
• Contribute to the knowledge and development of human rights, democratic principles, the principles of equality between women and men, solidarity, environmental protection, universal accessibility and design for all and the promotion of the culture of peace.

• Acquire, develop and put into practice a concept of integral health, where the biopsychosocial components of the same have a place, in accordance with the guidelines established by the WHO.
• Apply the fundamentals of bioethics and the method of deliberation in professional practice, adjusting their practice as health professionals to the provisions of Law 44/2003, of November 21, on the organization of health professions.
• Show interpersonal communication and emotion management skills appropriate for effective interaction with patients, family members and caregivers in the process of identification and assessment of the problem, communication of diagnosis and psychological intervention and monitoring.
• Critically analyze and use the sources of clinical information.
• Use information and communication technologies in professional practice.
• Write psychological reports appropriately for the recipients.
• Formulate working hypotheses in research and collect and critically evaluate the information for solving problems, applying the scientific method.
• Know the framework of action of the general health psychologist and know how to refer the corresponding specialist professional.
• Develop their work from the perspective of quality and continuous improvement, with the self-critical ability necessary for a responsible professional practice.
• Know how to communicate and communicate with other professionals, and master the necessary skills for teamwork and multidisciplinary groups.
• Knowledge of the obligations and responsibilities of health personnel regarding the confidentiality of information and the protection of patients' personal data.
• Know in depth the psychological nature of human behavior, as well as the social and biological factors that can affect it.
• Know in depth the psychological nature of human behavior disorders.
• Know in-depth the psychosocial factors associated with health and illness problems.
• Know in-depth the biological and psychosocial factors associated with health and illness problems, especially those related to mental health.
• Know in-depth the different models of evaluation and intervention in the field of General Health Psychology, as well as the techniques and procedures that derive from them for addressing behavioral disorders and psychological factors associated with health problems.
• Plan, carry out and, where appropriate, supervise the process of psychological evaluation of human behavior and the psychological factors associated with health problems to establish their evaluation.
• Design, develop and, where appropriate, supervise and evaluate plans and programs of psychological intervention, based on the psychological evaluation and the individual and social variables concurrent in each case.
• Know the necessary activities for the constitution, start-up and management of a company, its different legal forms and the associated legal, accounting and tax obligations.
• Knowledge of current regulations in the Spanish health sector.
• Carry out promotional and educational activities for individual and community psychological health.

According to the provisions of article 16 of RD 1393/2007, modified by RD 861/2010, students who meet any of the following conditions may access these studies:

• Be in possession of an official Spanish university degree or another issued by a higher education institution of the European Higher Education Area that authorizes access to Master's degree studies in the issuing country.
• Graduates in accordance with educational systems outside the European Higher Education Area may access without the need for homologation of their degrees, after verification by the University that they accredit a level of studies equivalent to the corresponding official Spanish university degrees, and that authorize, in the country issuing the degree, access to postgraduate education. Access through this path will not imply, in any case, the homologation of the previous degree that is in possession of the interested party, nor its recognition for other purposes than that of studying the Master's degree.
• In case of students with special educational needs derived from disability, the need for possible curricular adaptations, itineraries or alternative studies will be evaluated.

For the proposed master's degree, as established in the Agreement of May 31, 2013 of the CM, BOE of June 4, in order to access to this Master's degree it will be necessary to hold a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology in the branch of Health Sciences or a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology along with, where appropriate, complementary training that ensures that the interested party has obtained, at least, 90 ECTS credits of a specific health nature.

• With respect to the admission of non-Spanish speakers, the same profile as that of Spanish speakers will be required and they must also demonstrate their communicative competence in oral and written Spanish at a B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for teaching, learning and evaluation of languages.

The admission process to the Master's degree begins by sending by post or courier to the Postgraduate Admissions Section the following documentation:

• Completed Admission Application
• Updated Curriculum Vitae
• Photocopy of the DNI (Spanish candidates only) or passport (only foreign candidates)
• Photocopy of the Academic Record (completed or last year of the university degree)
• Two passport-size photographs, in color.
• Certified photocopy of the official Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Psychology.

With regard to the admission of new students, the academic record of the applicant will be assessed, that is, the arithmetic mean of the grades obtained in the Bachelor's Degree in Psychology will be evaluated first, as well as the completion of postgraduate training related to the Master's degree, in addition to work (or internships) related to the Master's degree; giving preference, in case of having more applications than places, to those who had some professional experience in this field and to the best records, in that order; although insofar as the number of applications allows it, they will be admitted depending on whether they confirm their reservation of place. In all cases the candidates must comply with the conditions of order ECD/1070/2013, as previously indicated.

For the allocation of places, an Admission Committee would be constituted, composed of the Center's Director, the Admissions Coordinator of the Center and the Director of the Master's degree, who will assess the applicants and meet as often as necessary (the applicants will be informed of this when submitting their documentation) and, at least once a month, to resolve the applications.

Once the admission is announced, the candidates must make the reservation of their place. This economic pre-enrollment guarantees the candidate's place in the University.

Pre-enrolled candidates who wish to formalize their academic enrollment in the University must, within the indicated periods, complete the following steps:

• Submit documentation: documentary proof that they have fulfilled the requirements established by Spanish university legislation to be able to start/continue their university studies at Nebrija University.
• Formalize the enrollment process via Internet: The self-enrollment service of the Nebrija website allows admitted students to complete all the academic, economic and administrative procedures, without having to physically travel to the University. The admitted students will formalize their self-enrollment in the terms indicated. To do this, they will receive at home, along with their admission letter, the personal access code and password necessary to carry out their academic and economic self-enrollment. Once the self-enrollment is formalized, after the documentation submitted is verified, the candidate acquires the status of student of Nebrija University. In the process of self-enrollment, the student has at all times the technical assistance of the Computer Services, as well as academic assistance of their future Tutor, so that he/she can guide them in selecting subjects.
• Payment of the annual registration fees of the degree for which the student was admitted. The reservation fee is a part of the annual registration fees.
• After registration, the candidate will formalize their enrollment, selecting the subjects online and completing the required information. Throughout the process, the candidate is permanently in contact with the Department of Promotion and Admissions and with the academic heads of the Program who advise him/her on any questions.
