Antonio de Nebrija University and Banco Santander present the fifth edition of the awards honoring the best Final Projects for Bachelor's and Master's degrees. These awards align with the research areas of the university's research chairs.
Resolution Awards Call 2023 -2024
The Antonio de Nebrija University's Department of Research Chairs is pleased to announce the winners of the Awards for the Best Final Projects for Bachelor's and Master's degrees across various research areas championed by the chairs. These awards aim to honor students who have demonstrated exceptional work in specialized research areas associated with the Chairs of the Antonio de Nebrija University.
As part of the Nebrija-Santander Chairs Awards, an expert panel reviewed 33 submissions from 22 Spanish universities and 11 international universities. The outstanding works in each category, each receiving a prize of 1,234.56 euros (gross), are as follows:
- Lisbeth Pastora Giménez has been awarded by the Nebrija-Santander Global Chair of Spanish as a Language of Migrants and Refugees for her Master's Final Project titled “Factors that affect the maintenance of a minority language in the family: the case of Spanish as a heritage language in Italy,” defended at the Antonio de Nebrija University.
- The Nebrija-Santander Global Chair in Migrations and Human Rights has recognized Marlene Lucía López Vegaor her Master's Final Project titled “The Arauca River: weaver of the transnational social space of the Great Plain,” defended at the Pontifical Javeriana University in Bogotá, Colombia.
- Divassón Jaureguibarria has been honored by the Nebrija-Santander Global Chair in Energy Recovery in Surface Transport for his Final Project titled “Analysis of Stochastic Techniques to Improve Flexibility in Medium Voltage Distribution Systems using Energy Storage Systems on congestion case scenarios,” defended at the University of the Basque Country.
- The Nebrija-Santander Global Chair in Business Internationalization has awarded its prize to Raúl Peinado Fernández for his Final Project titled “Construction of an interactive visualization tool for the analysis of Spain’s external openness and its exposure to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine,” defended at the Autonomous University of Madrid.
Conditions of the call
The call welcomes submissions from various academic disciplines that correspond to the research chair topics, including but not limited to: internationalization of companies, migration and human rights, teaching Spanish to migrants and refugees, and energy recovery in transportation.

The Nebrija University and Banco Santander announce the 4rd edition of the Awards for the best Final Bachelor's and Master's Degree Final Projects presented in any academic discipline oriented to the thematic lines of the Nebrija-Santander research chairs.
Resolution Awards Call 2022-2023
On July 20, 2023, the Department of Research Chairs of the Antonio de Nebrija University awarded the Nebrija-Santander Awards for Bachelor's and Master's Final Projects in the lines of the research chairs, dedicated to promoting the knowledge of the students who have stood out for their good work in the lines of specialized research carried out by the University's chairs.
The expert juries evaluated the work presented, which amounted to a total of 44. The origin of the research works was broad, since proposals from 36 Spanish universities were submitted (Public University of Navarra, University of Granada, University of Seville, University of Alcalá, University of Zaragoza, Comillas Pontifical University, Antonio de Nebrija University, University of Barcelona, University of Murcia, Catholic University of Valencia, International University of Valencia, University of Cádiz, San Jorge University, Autonomous University of Madrid, University of Deusto and Universidad Pontificia Comillas) and 8 foreign universities (State University of South Manabí of Ecuador, Universidad Nacional de la Plata of Argentina, Universidad Nacional de San Martín of Argentina, University of Medellín of Colombia, Universidad Nacional Del Litoral of Argentina , University of Chile, Catholic University of Temuco of Colombia, University of Cauca of Colombia).
The winning papers in each category are detailed below, with a prize of 1,234.56 euros, gross:
- The Nebrija-Santander Global Chair of Spanish as a Language of Migrants and Refugees, awards its Prize to Alfonso Carnicero Izquierdo for his FRP titled “CLIL Workshop on gender equality for refugees,” defended at the Antonio de Nebrija University.
- The Nebrija-Santander Global Chair in Risk and Conflict Management awards its Prize to Beatriz Axelle Waucquez Jiménez for her FRP titled “The repatriation of the children of Daesh: analysis and solutions based on H.F. and M.F. v. France cases and J.D. and A.D. v. France cases,” defended at the International University of Valencia.
- The Nebrija-Santander Global Chair in Energy Recovery in Surface Transportation, awards its Prize to Daniel Clavijo Gil for his FRP titled “x CYBERPHYSICAL SYSTEMS for the COMPONENTS of NMLS1”, defended at the Antonio de Nebrija University.
- The committee of the Nebrija-Santander Global Chair in Business Internationalization awards its Prize to Vicente Salvador Casabán Cabedo for his FRP titled “Future challenges of the Spanish ceramic sector,” defended at the University of Valencia.

Awards Resolution for the 2021-2022 Call
The main objective of the Telefónica-Nebrija Research Chair is promoting the implementation of projects and activities that allow the incorporation of technologies and innovations aimed at the digitalization of processes, and creating products and services in the tourism sector, thereby contributing to the development of a more innovative, intelligent and sustainable management of tourism.
On September 26, 2022, a specialized jury decided on the Telefónica-Nebrija Awards for the best Final Research Projects of Bachelor's and Master's Degrees on Tourism Intelligence, which represent recognizing students who stood out for their good work in this specialized line of research.
After the evaluation of the projects presented, which came from various national universities (Complutense University of Madrid, University of Girona and University of Oviedo) and international universities (Modul University Vienna, Austria), the following awards were granted:
- ONE First Prize, with a gross amount of €1,250, to Aitziber Pousa Unanue for her FRP titled "From marketing to management: conceptualizing a strategic destination management scorecard (SDMSC)" and defended at the Modul University of Vienna (Austria).
- ONE Second Prize, with a gross amount of €750, to Sara García Portela for her FRP titled "The Metaverse and its influence on the future of the Tourism Sector" and defended at the Complutense University of Madrid.
3rd edition of the Awards for the best Bachelor's and Master's Degree Final Projects
The Nebrija University and Banco Santander announce the 3rd edition of the Awards for the best Final Bachelor's and Master's Degree Final Projects presented in any academic discipline oriented to the thematic lines of the Nebrija-Santander research chairs.
Awards Resolution for the 2021-2022 Call
On July 28, 2022, Antonio de Nebrija University's Department of Research Chairs conferred the Nebrija-Santander Awards for Final Research Projects in Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in the chairs' lines of study, which were committed to promoting the knowledge of students who stood out for their good work in the specialized research carried out by Antonio de Nebrija University's research chairs.
The expert juries evaluated the projects presented, which were a total of 31. The origin of the research works was wide, since there were proposals from 12 Spanish universities (University of Almería, University of Alicante, Antonio de Nebrija University, Autonomous University of Barcelona, Camilo José Cela University, Villanueva University Center, University of Malaga, Cartagena Polytechnic University, University of Oviedo, University of Salamanca, University of Valencia and University of Zaragoza), and 8 foreign universities (Universidade do Vale do Rio Dos Sinos de Sao Leopoldo in Brazil, Politécnico Gran Colombiano, University of Holguín in Cuba, Bratislava University of Economics in Slovakia, Francisco Morazán National Pedagogical University in Honduras, Autonomous University of Chiapas, Autonomous University of Mexico, University of Lima in Peru and University of the Republic of Uruguay).

- The Nebrija-Santander Chair in Risk and Conflict Management awards its FRP Award to María Isabel Renedo Cobás for her FRP entitled “Sex exploitation of women and girls in West Africa: a problem for the region's security” and defended at the Antonio de Nebrija University.

Resolution Awards Call 2020/2021
The Department of Chairs of the Antonio de Nebrija University has failed on July 26, 2020 the 4 Nebrija-Santander Awards for End-of-Degree Projects and End-of-Master Projects in the lines of the chairs, dedicated to promoting knowledge of those students who have stood out for their good work in the specialized lines of research carried out from the chairs of the Antonio de Nebrija University.
Four expert juries have evaluated the works presented, which have amounted to a total of 22. The origin of the research works has been wide, as proposals from 7 Spanish universities have concurred (Antonio de Nebrija University; Camilo José Cela University; Autonomous University University of Barcelona; University of Granada; University of Castilla La Mancha; University of Cantabria; University of Valencia) and 6 foreign universities (Redemptoris Mater Catholic University, in Nicaragua; Federal University dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri, in Brazil; University of Bío -Bío, in Chile; Online Latin American Technological University, in Mexico; Federal University of Goiás, in Brazil and University of Guanajuato, in Mexico).

The Nebrija-Santander Global Chair on Business Internationalization awards its FRP Award to Carolina Calatayud Galiana, for her project: " New Destination of the Global Value Chains: the East of Africa", defended at Universidad de Valencia. El jurado ha destacado la solidez de este trabajo, la actualidad del tema (África y las cadenas globales) y su rigurosidad metodológica. Se trata además de un trabajo escrito enteramente en inglés.
The Nebrija-Santander Global Chair on Energy Recovery in Surface Transport awards its FRP Award to Marco Casale Nieto, for his project: " Desarrollo de metodología de ensayos dinámicos y adquisición “low-cost” para vehículos automóviles", defended at Universidad Antonio de Nebrija. El jurado ha destacado de este trabajo su alineamiento con las líneas de la cátedra, pues plantea el desarrollo de una metodología de adquisición de datos y ensayos para automóviles; la estructura y organización, así como su originalidad, con una apreciable labor propia de codificación.
